Foundation Ushersyndroom
A colleague informed us about the Ushersyndroom Foundation. In the Netherlands, around 1.000 people have Usher syndrome, which can cause them to gradually become deaf and blind.
Worldwide, 400.000 people have this rare hereditary condition. At the moment there is no treatment available. For this reason the Ushersyndroom Foundation funds projects and scientific research aimed at developing treatment and improving quality of life.
As a board, we were deeply impressed by the severity of this condition, and therefore we have committed ourselves to this foundation for three years.
