6th edition A Local Swim Westland

The proceeds from the 6th edition of A Local Swim Westland amount to € 1,048,856.00!

This edition of A Local Swim Westland was a great success. 795 swimmers entered the Lee to fight against the nerve/muscle disease ALS. Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a muscle and nerve disorder that leads to the progressive failure of the muscles. At present, there is no treatment or medicine capable of combating this incurable disease.

The swimmers received support from many spectators along the swimming course and in the party tent. This wonderful edition was all about togetherness, sportsmanship, and fun. Together, the swimmers and sponsors raised a fantastic preliminary total of no less than €1,048,856.00.

ALS Westland Foundation
The ALS Westland Foundation is dedicated to the fight against the nerve/muscle disease ALS by raising awareness of the disease, providing assistance to patients and their families, and raising funds. A Local Swim Westland is one of the foundation’s best-known events and takes place every other year.

DFF is a proud sponsor of our colleagues Timo, Kim, Laurens and Sven, who took part and swam 2 kilometres.
