ALMC Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Arusha, Tanzania
Dutch Flower Foundation supports the ALMC Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Arusha, Tanzania for several years.
Via Boudewijn Rip we came in contact with Stephen J. Swanson (Medical Director of the NICU).
After a presentation of him and a tour in the NICU, we where convinced to support the organisation.
Dr Swanson: In 2020 the NICU cared for 325 NICU babies. With a 93% survival rate using only appropriate technology for Tanzania and the basics of respiratory support, thermoregulation, and feeding. 83% of babies born under 1500 kg survived in our NICU- babies that would be unlikely to survive in other hospitals. Dr Swanson shares his knowledge and experiences throughout the south and east of Africa.
Dutch Flower Foundation is proud and thankful to support the NICU.

Welcome Mick
14.02.2026
Since last year, our board has been joined by mascot Mick. And what a lucky guy, Mick gets to go out with everyone right away! Cuddling with the children from Nini Daycare, posing for a photo with the ladies from Join for Joy, and visiting Arjan from Foundation Kind in Oost Europa (Child in East Europe).
Dutch Flower Foundation 2025
22.01.2026
It’s almost the end of January, and as we are working on our 2025 annual report, it gives us a moment to look back at all the special projects of last year. We are grateful that we were able to support various projects in China, South America, Africa and Europe. Most often helping those who need it most, vulnerable children, but also lonely elderly people and people who need support with their most basic needs. We could not do this without our contributing partners and all Dutch Flower Group companies. 🫶
