Most of our projects are requested by employees of DFG companies as well as business relations of our companies. The projects vary from a contribution to a sponsor run to a long-term project collaboration. We want to go more and more for longer term projects to realize more connection, visibility and impact for people. We are Iris and Elias, and we live and work in Soroti, Uganda. Soroti is located in the northeast of Uganda, about a seven-hour drive from the capital, Kampala. We met at a children\u2019s home where we were both working at the time. That is why we will be supporting the Roses and Stories initiative by the Grandparents&#8217; Day Foundation for the next three years.\r\nOn 2 October, the Italian Festa dei Nonni \u2013 Grandparents&#8217; Day \u2013 was celebrated in The Hague. Children, older people and representatives from the Netherlands and Italy came together to share flowers, stories and an Italian lunch. Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a muscle and nerve disorder that leads to the progressive failure of the muscles.
